Job Description : The NA L1 provides system administration of Network, Web, and/or communication systems, including Local Area Network (LAN) and Wide Area Network (WAN) systems. This includes administration of user accounts, passwords, access levels, email accounts, and FTP. The NA L1 role requires comprehensive knowledge of NCIS hardware, software and network components. The NA L1 is responsible for maintaining servers, creating monitor reports and logs, and ensuring functionality of links. The NA L1 monitors the NCIS intranet site for acceptable performance and user accessibility. The NA L1 establishes back-ups procedures and supervises the junior staff in the performance of backups. The NAL1 coordinates network administration and performance requirements with other members of the information systems team. The NA L1 identifies, analyzes and documents long-range requirements, and schedules resources related to the enterprise network. The NA L1 prepares technical implementation plans that provide integrated solutions including actions, milestones, timelines and critical paths required for complete solutions. The NA L1 researches applicable standards and requirements documents to assure compliance with DIA, DON and DoD standards. The NA L1 recommends multi-user software that meets common user requirements, and integrates this software, as needed, with existing software. The NA L1 plans for and provides reasonable responsiveness in terms of system performance (up time). The NA L1 prepares activity and progress reports for his or her team leader with respect to network performance. The NA L1 administers large e-mail systems.
Experience Requirements: Seven years of increasingly complex and progressive experience in implementing, administering, performing tests and analyzing all elements of network systems. Has experience with current technologies and, where required for the task, emerging technologies. |

Job Description : The VC L3 provides technical expertise for communications activities including installing and maintaining large communications networks for voice, wireless, video, and data communications systems. The VC L3 applies communications engineering principles to propose design and configuration changes and enhancements. The VC L3 is responsible for complex engineering or analytical tasks and activities associated with one or more technical areas within the communications function. The VC L3 consults with user personnel to ensure that problems have been properly identified and that the solution is satisfactory. The VC L3 analyzes network performance, usage and traffic flows, accesses and interfaces, transmission techniques, and protocols. The VC L3 provides technical guidance to other personnel concerning voice and data communications systems and participates in preparing specifications for acquiring commercially available voice and data communications equipment and services.
Experience Requirements: Six years of experience designing, building, and/or maintaining communications systems. |
