Department of Defense Cyber Crime Center (DC3)

DEI provides the DC3 with mission support in the following areas:

  • Provide digital evidence processing and electronic media analysis for criminal law enforcement and Department of Defense counterintelligence investigations and activities.
  • Deliver investigations and forensic training to DoD members to ensure info systems are secure from unauthorized use.
  • Remain on the cutting edge of future investigations through research, development, testing, and evaluation (RDT&E).
  • Serve as the focal point and clearinghouse for Defense Industrial Base incident reporting and computer emergency response actions as part of the Department of Homeland Security’s Critical Infrastructure Partnership Advisory Council initiative, through the housing of the analytical portion of the National Cyber Investigative Joint Task Force, and protection of Sensitive But Unclassified information on contractor networks.
